Getting startedDoes ShikZya work for colleges as well as schools?
Yes. It handles Montessori to Class 10, +2 with faculties such as Science and Management, and Bachelor and Master programs with semesters. A school with both a school wing and a college runs both in the same system — school families use the parent portal, college students use their own.
Getting startedDo we need to install anything or buy a server?
No. ShikZya runs in the web browser on any computer, tablet or phone, and we host it for you. Parents, students and staff can also add it to their phone's home screen so it opens like an app, with notifications.

Getting startedWhat documents do we need to start ShikZya?
An official request letter on your institution's letterhead, addressed to ZilFox Technologies Pvt. Ltd., signed by the person who takes the decision — the principal, the administrator, or for a board-run institution the chairperson or a director authorised by the board — with the institution's stamp and the date. After that we set up your school using your class list, student spreadsheet, staff list, subjects and fee structure, logo and principal's signature, PAN/VAT details and school calendar. Yes. Book a demo and we'll walk you through the portals that matter to you, using a sample school, and answer your questions.
Data & securityWe already have our students in Excel. Do we type them again?
No. The Data Operator portal imports students in bulk from a spreadsheet — for the school and the college — and shows a check-before-save preview so mistakes are caught before anything is saved.

Yes. Old batches and passed-out students can be imported too, so your history stays in one place.
Data & securityIs our data safe? Can other schools see it?
No other school can see your data. Every school's records are kept separate, each person sees only their own portal, all pages use an encrypted HTTPS connection, and backups are taken every day with a copy stored off-site.
Data & securityWho can see what inside our school?
Each role has its own portal. The principal sees everything and decides which office tasks reception, the accountant and the data operator may do. Parents see only their own children, students only themselves, and directors get a read-only view.
FeaturesDoes it follow NEB grading and the Nepali calendar?
Yes. Marksheets follow NEB grading with credit-weighted GPA, and the system uses Bikram Sambat dates, with Nepal's public holidays and festivals ready to import into your school calendar.
FeaturesCan we connect our fingerprint attendance machine?
Yes, as an add-on. Supported fingerprint devices send their punches to ShikZya automatically, or you can upload them by USB or CSV. Staff and students are then marked present, late or absent according to your school's timings.
FeaturesCan we send SMS to parents?
Yes. The Communication Centre sends SMS, email and push notifications to one student, a class, a saved group or the whole school, and an optional SMS can go home when a child is absent. SMS uses prepaid SMS credits.
FeaturesDoes it handle optional subjects like Basic Maths or Business Maths?
Yes. Alternative subjects can share one class and one period, each with its own teacher, attendance and marks — and each student sees only their own subject.

Yes. Pair any TV or screen with a 6-digit code and it shows a section's routine, or the whole school's Now and Next.
FeaturesDo you support morning and day shifts?
Yes, as an add-on. Each section and staff member follows its own shift timings, and lateness is judged against that shift.

Yes. Parents switch their portal between English and नेपाली, and their choice is remembered for their account.

No. ShikZya opens in the phone's browser, and parents can add it to their home screen so it works like an app, with push notifications.

No. One parent account holds all your children, and you switch between them in a tap.

Yes. College students — and +2 students where the school chooses — get their own student portal instead of a parent one.

With their mobile number: a one-time code verifies it, and they can then log in with their mobile number or email.
